ABFA Commissions New Half Yearly
Economic Report
The ABFA has commissioned two economic reports per year,
timed to accompany the Q2 and end of year statistics.
These reports have been commissioned by the ABFA and
will be written by Paul Mizen, Professor of Monetary
Economics and Director of the Centre for Finance and
Credit Markets at the University of Nottingham. In the
reports, Paul will put ABFA figures into an economic
context, explaining the industry's activity and products
in the light of current macroeconomic and financial

SME's Push Forward with Growth Plans
UK SMEs are reminaing defiant in the face of the current
economic turmoil and will not rein back expansion palns
for the remainder of 2008. A new survey by the Asset
Based Finance Association (ABFA) found that 74% of companies
are refusing to put growth ambitions on hold. In fact,
around half expect to increase their borrowing in 2008
with 67% either confident or very confident they will
secure the additional funding to support their plans.
