Educational Awards Dinner

This year's ABFA Educational Foundation Awards Dinner was held on Thursday 21st February 2008 at the Café Royal, Piccadilly. The evening was a immense success, with over 150 people from the invoice finance industry in attendance. The event was held in the Louis and Pompadour suites at the Cafe Royal and it was great to see so many of the industry attending to cheer on colleagues and help celebrate with the winners.

The evening is designed to recognise the efforts of professionals who are furthering their qualifications and careers, and was attended by Managing Directors and staff from their companies. The black tie evening commenced at 7:15pm with a champagne reception, followed by dinner and the awards ceremony. Before the three course meal, Tim Corbett (Chairman of the Governors of the Educational Foundation) welcomed everyone with a speech which was perfect for the occasion.

Following dinner it was John Motson OBE's turn to take centre stage and host the award preceedings. The awards ceremony consisted of 7 publicised awards generously sponsored by organisations who had contributed to the success of the ABFA's Educational Foundation and one surprise award, not listed in the evenings programme. The night also saw the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' presented to a Tony Cox. Congratulations to all of the award winners, who are listed below.

Then it was time for John Motson OBE to entertain everyone with his after-dinner speech, and tales of his sporting experiences, delivered in his trade-mark coat! Finally, it was time for the band (Choice) to get everyone up and moving on the dancefloor. As always with this event, the celebrations went on well into the night - and early morning!

A wonderful evening was had by all and many congratulations to all those students nominated and to all the winners below!
